GilBrandt Ballot for 2017 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 9, 2017, 9:25 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Teams that are just outside of my ranking are Virginia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Memphis, and Marshall. Biggest changes to my rankings (~5 spots): Michigan -10, OU -12, Notre Dame +6, NCState +11, Michigan State +10, Texas Tech (NEW), Houston (NEW), Louisville (UR), Florida (UR), West Virginia (UR), Utah (UR)

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Not an amazing victory, but Wake Forest isn't as bad as they have been in the past. Still overall resume is quite impressive
Alabama Crimson Tide So my Aggies surpassed expectations immensely! Close win means that Alabama stays at 2 instead of jumping to 1 like I thought might happen
Georgia Bulldogs ALMOST put you at 2 over Alabama because Georgia has been awesome. Ultimately used Vandy as a measuring stick for you two
TCU Horned Frogs Like Alabama and Clemson, you had a close victory, but WVU is a decent team. Just be careful that you don't end up like OU
Penn State Nittany Lions Still getting decent victories over P5 opponents
Washington Huskies Are we doing cupcake memes now?
Washington State Cougars Solid victory WSU. Feels like a different WSU because I feel like past teams would have let their fan base down losing a game like this
Wisconsin Badgers Still just chuggin along
Notre Dame Fighting Irish That lost to Georgia is looking more and more impressive. Quality losses right? Easy win vs UNC
Oklahoma State Cowboys "Quality loss" to TCU like Notre Dame with Georgia. Also it's nice to have my secondary flair above the Sooners. I'm not even sure anyone actually reads my posts, but I would like to take this post to... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA to all the OU fans that got upvoted to oblivion calling the Cowboys overrated after they lost to TCU. Losing to TCU doesn't sound so bad now huh?
Auburn Tigers Not as big of a victory after crushing Miss St, but Auburn continues to look good and has that "quality loss" like OSU and Notre Dame
Virginia Tech Hokies Not a great victory, but still believe the Hokies are a good team
Ohio State Buckeyes Ohio State on the rise after being embarrassed by OU, just like when they lost to VT a couple seasons ago.
UCF Knights Another great victory. I feel like I'm putting y'all way too high, but you've been great so far so why the hell not
NC State Wolfpack Dropped Louisville from my rankings. Wouldn't have believed anyone if they told me the Wolfpack would take out FSU (TBF they are down a QB) and the former Heisman winner's team
Michigan State Spartans WOW. Tight win over the tough Michigan defense, but definitely didn't see it coming
Michigan Wolverines Y'all need to get an offense
Miami Hurricanes Still need to see more from the Hurricanes. Don't know exactly how to feel about y'all
USC Trojans Easy victory
Oklahoma Sooners *breathes in* HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.... but really what the hell OU? Third string QB at home?? The Poke fan in me loves this, but I feel like y'all should be better than this (obviously from the Ohio State game). I already had you almost out of the top 10 after the Baylor game and now this. I barely have you ranked because I just don't believe that you could beat most teams around you currently. Get your shit together (or don't, I enjoy it more that way)
San Diego State Aztecs Undefeated still and an easy victory
USF Bulls Bye week and undefeated. Got some tough competition coming
Navy Midshipmen MURICA! But really, close win over a lowly Air Force team. Undefeated is the only reason you're still ranked barely
Texas Tech Red Raiders Easy win and expect you to climb higher if you can continue. WVU will be tough, but I believe in the Raiders (feels gross as an Aggie)
Houston Cougars Ok resume so far and only loss to a team in my ranking (one above but still). 25 spot could be given to a few teams, so don't expect to stay here
