CarbonCamaroZL1 Ballot for 2017 Week 7

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 8, 2017, 9:48 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Florida is out, Navy is in, a bunch of other teams moved back and forth. Also, screw Michigan State. I'm not adding them yet. They have one loss to ranked team, yes, one win against a ranked team, yes, but it was another one of their flukes that seem to always happen in the B1G. Their defense is quite literally all they have and I see no reason realistically why they should be ranked. I'm bitter.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide +0 spots (previously 1). Won against a previously 4-1 Texas A&M team.
Clemson Tigers +0 spots (previously 2). Also played well against a 4-1 team, except this one was Wake Forest. Might arguably be a stronger team than Texas A&M, but Clemson has their chance to move up soon.
Penn State Nittany Lions +1 spot (previously 4). Dominated Northwestern and Oklahoma lost. Moving up.
Washington Huskies +1 spot (previously 5). Destroyed California in a similar fashion to what Penn State did to Northwestern. Moving up as well.
Georgia Bulldogs +1 spot (previously 6). Not sure why Georgia is moving so far up, they didn't do as much damage to Vanderbilt as Alabama did! But they do get to move up either way. Considering the future SEC Championship game, Georgia will have a chance to move further if they beat Bama (or one of these top 4 lose).
Washington State Cougars +4 spots (previously 10). Looking like a tough team, plus they beat a team who beat Nebraska, therefore they get to move ahead of Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Badgers +2 spots (previously 9). Went into a rivalry game against a subpar Nebraska, but regardless they more than doubled their score.
Oklahoma Sooners -5 spots (previously 3). Out of the Playoff contention for now. Still have a chance to get back in with an unbeaten remaining season and some top teams losing. Also, Tornado Alley is now renamed Cyclone Alley.
Ohio State Buckeyes -1 spot (previously 8). Ohio State did some damage to Maryland. Definitely a different team than when they played Oklahoma, however Oklahoma still deserves to stay ahead of them for now. If OSU can begin beating the tougher teams in the B1G, then that will move them ahead.
TCU Horned Frogs +1 spot (previously 11). Moves up for beating West Virginia in a close game. Can't really move them up any further as I feel that everyone ahead of them has a tougher schedule.
Miami Hurricanes +1 spot (previously 12). Didn't particularly look great against an FSU team with a backup QB, but still got the win and are currently undefeated (can't say that about Auburn).
Auburn Tigers +1 spot (previously 13). Didn't embarrass Ole Miss like other teams have done, but they also got the win.
Michigan Wolverines -6 spots (previously 7). So there may be some biased here, but I decided to drop Michigan only to 13 because I honestly feel that we can beat most of the teams below us. I have a different perspective on who should be where and I don't honestly feel like a rivalry game should drop us as far as it did. In the event that the weather wasn't involved in that game, I feel the results could have been different. Basically what happened is whichever team was up before the weather, was going to win short of a lack in ability to move the ball. A freak incident was the only chance either team had to make a score at that point. Therefore I am not moving Michigan down any further. I'd like to see how they bounce back and what they do against an actually good team first (Penn State).
Virginia Tech Hokies +0 spots (previously 14). Beat a meh Boston College. Not moving anywhere.
USF Bulls +1 spot (previously 16). Bye week victory.
USC Trojans +1 spot (previously 17). Bounced back after a shocking loss and won by a decent margin, but not as strong as previously thought.
Oklahoma State Cowboys +3 spots (previously 20). Gained 3 spots purely because of many losses ahead of them! Successful bye week!
San Diego State Aztecs +3 spots (previously 21). Absolutely obliterated UNLV.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish +3 spots (previously 22). Handed North Carolina another big loss.
NC State Wolfpack +4 spots (previously 24). Handed a team a loss that everyone thought should somehow still be ranked (Louisville) by a 2-score game. I knew Louisville was overrated... But NC State is looking like a potential threat to Clemson.
UCF Knights +2 spots (previously 23). Won there game pretty well, by a large score.
Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets +3 spots (previously 25). Moving up on a bye week.
West Virginia Mountaineers -8 spots (previously 15). Suffered another close loss to a very good team. They don't deserve to be out yet. Still got a few ranked games left to prove themselves as one of the best 2 loss teams in FBS.
Utah Utes -7 spots (previously 18). Not a great showing off of a bye week against an okay Stanford, but they will remain in due to their USC game next week. Lose to them, however, and they are out of the Top 25.
Navy Midshipmen NEW (previously UNRANKED). Welcome to Top 25. I will put you guys in since you are undefeated.
