Khavanon Ballot for 2016 Final

Ballot Type: Hybrid

Submitted: Jan. 10, 2017, 12:32 a.m.

Overall Rationale: This is my fifth season as an /r/CFB Poll member, and my seventh using my computer poll formula. My computer poll has always shown the accomplishments of a team over the course of an entire season rather than favor late season wins over earlier ones. In every other season this has turned out very well for me in the final poll, but I realize that my final top ten this season might be my most controversial one yet based on some rather surprising/lackluster bowl performances all around. I could redesign it under the late-season criteria, and there is certainly some merit to that line of thinking, but for the sake of integrity I intend to remain consistent with the formula that was used throughout the season for this ballot. During the off-season though, I will analyze the two methods to see if I can make my poll work for this season as well as all previous ones. So if you want to complain about where Ohio State is listed, or Michigan vs. Florida State, or Western Michigan vs. Wisconsin, or Penn State in relation to all of the other Big Ten teams and USC... believe me, I know. I'll be looking into it. That being said, I still cannot give the #1 position to the team that did not win the national championship, despite them being the strongest team throughout the season and one of the strongest I've ever rated. So this season's final ballot becomes a hybrid one for that reason. Since it's a hybrid I could make all the other adjustments, but instead I'm going to leave them as is, take whatever heat I may get, and get to work on my poll for next season. Congratulations to the Clemson Tigers and have a good off-season!
