Overall Rationale: Top 10 are ranked in order by who I think deserves a playoff spot, which includes winning your division/conference- sorry Michigan and USC! Ohio State is obviously the exception because of their incredible resume. As for WMU, going undefeated is hard no matter the schedule. Going undefeated means you didn't drop a tough conference game on the road like every other team except Alabama. That's why they've earned the number 5 spot. In a just world they would be in playoff consideration but alas.
