Ballot Type: Human

Overall Rationale: Playoff Prediction Mode engaged. The top four is my expected playoff field, in order. Next four are most the likely replacements (mostly in order). Beyond the top 8 it's a more traditional poll. The CFP committee has shown certain preferences through two seasons, this poll reflects that through the top 8.
Rank | Team | Reason |
---|---|---|
| Alabama Crimson Tide | I know very little about darkness, Mr Saban, except that we cannot stop its coming. |
| Ohio State Buckeyes | I've been convinced that the committee is likely to take OSU over PSU. |
| Clemson Tigers | Beat VT for the ACC title and they're in. No ifs, ands, or buts. |
| Washington Huskies | Beat Colorado for the PAC12 title and they're in. No ifs, ands, or buts. |
| Penn State Nittany Lions | If they can beat Wisconsin handily in the B1GCG, they could definitely get in if the committee thinks that extra game boosts them over OSU. Or if Washington stumbles against Colorado. |
| Oklahoma Sooners | Hope for a little dose of chaos (losses by Clemson and/or Washington), along with a woodshedding of the Pokes in Bedlam. |
| Western Michigan Broncos | Win the MAC, and then hope for a LOT of chaos (losses by Clemson AND Washington). Toss in a Sooners loss to the Pokes. |
| Wisconsin Badgers | If they beat PSU handily and there are some losses (Clemson/Washington again), *maybe* the committee puts them in along with OSU. |
| Michigan Wolverines | |
| Oklahoma State Cowboys | I still count the CMU loss as a loss. And I'm not sure why it's a discussion. A P5 team with playoff aspirations doesn't let a team like CMU hang around. Much less leave them in ANY position to win at the end. |
| Florida State Seminoles | |
| Navy Midshipmen | |
| Colorado Buffaloes | |
| USC Trojans | |
| West Virginia Mountaineers | |
| Stanford Cardinal | |
| Virginia Tech Hokies | |
| Auburn Tigers | |
| Nebraska Cornhuskers | |
| Florida Gators | Finally out of the "top 8". Even if they were to beat Bama (unless somehow it's done in a blowout [lol]), that probably doesn't drop the Tide out. |
| Wyoming Cowboys | |
| USF Bulls | |
| Louisville Cardinals | |
| Houston Cougars | |
| LSU Tigers |
