Colton3690 Ballot for 2016 Week 9

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 23, 2016, 5:03 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide There is no argument for any other team at the top spot that holds water at this point. The Tide have played one of the toughest schedules and have dominated while doing so.
Michigan Wolverines Now in poll position in the Big Ten race. Still have several more hurdles and potential spots where they could trip up, including The Game looming in Columbus in the final week
Washington Huskies How good is the Pac-12 this year? Hard to say, but Washington has clearly been the best out west so far this season
Clemson Tigers Have shown some weaknesses and haven't really come together as a team yet. Still some concerns about if they can hold on to win the ACC
Ohio State Buckeyes Really thought the Buckeyes would drop further this week after losing in Happy Valley during a White Out, but their wins so far still have a lot of merit and outweigh their one loss.
Louisville Cardinals Might be the best one loss team in the country right now, but they still need help to make the ACC title game.
Texas A&M Aggies Coming off a loss to the #1 team in which you were expected to lose isn't terrible, but I was disappointed they didn't keep the game a bit closer.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Still cruising in the Big Ten West. Major tests to clear in the coming weeks.
Wisconsin Badgers Won a good, defensive game against Iowa. Some people assume that low scoring/close means you played worse, but this was a solid win for the Badgers and didn't feel as close as the final score indicated.
West Virginia Mountaineers Answered some major questions in a convincing win over TCU, and jump up several spots this week
Boise State Broncos Close game, close ending, held on to win
Utah Utes I am still high on the Utes right now, though they have something yet to prove to most people
Western Michigan Broncos Dropped several spots in my poll this week, which is not to say they did anything wrong, but got passed by several teams who simply did more this week. Such is life in the MAC. I still think they might be the best G5 team out there though.
Florida State Seminoles Look like the best 2-loss team right now, which might leave their fans wondering "what if" had they played a bit better out of the gates.
Auburn Tigers Biggest jump of any team this week. Embarrassed Arkansas and jumped into contender status in the SEC
Oklahoma Sooners Won a shootout over TTU (like most teams have to). Leaves major concerns on defense, but not sure they can replicate that kind of offensive showing against a defense with a pulse.
Colorado Buffaloes Buffs keep marching along, taking care of business in knocking off Stanford. This is a good fundamental team that can win in more than one way if necessary.
Baylor Bears Their schedule still leaves SO much to be desired. Still have not won a game that I can give them much credit for at this point.
Tennessee Volunteers Win over VT bumped them up a few spots
Virginia Tech Hokies Nice bounce back game after getting upset last week.
Penn State Nittany Lions Knocking off the #2 team gets you some brownie points. Penn State is now a contender in the Big Ten East if they can somehow run the table.
North Carolina Tar Heels Loss to VT dropped them a couple spots
Navy Midshipmen Best team in the AAC? After taking out Houston and Memphis it's hard to argue against at this point.
San Diego State Aztecs Still looking solid in the MW race
Toledo Rockets MAC gets a 2nd team in this week as Toledo keeps taking care of their own business.
