A-Stu-Ute Ballot for 2016 Week 9

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 24, 2016, 12:39 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide Unstoppable.
Michigan Wolverines Also unstoppable.
Washington Huskies Face likely their hardest challenge thus far at Utah, but have proven extremely capable.
Clemson Tigers Bye week off a close NC State win looks ok, but they're vulnerable.
Louisville Cardinals Loss to Clemson, otherwise hard to put at 5 instead of 4.
Ohio State Buckeyes A loss, but a fluky one of sorts. 4 of 5 times that loss doesn't happen on a blocked field goal returned for a TD.
West Virginia Mountaineers Better statistically than Baylor in pretty much any area.  Don't know why I had them below before.
Baylor Bears Are certainly good, but this is a tenuous spot. Will have to do well from here on out for a potential play off spot.
Texas A&M Aggies Playing Alabama is hard, but a loss is a loss.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Purdue kept it more interesting than it should have been.
Wisconsin Badgers Still there hanging around.  Only losses to Michigan and OSU, which says a lot, especially with LSU surging.
Florida State Seminoles Somehow are back here?
Auburn Tigers Two losses to top-10 teams, big wins. They should have probably been in the rankings earlier.
Western Michigan Broncos The boat is rowing. Winning games by comfortable margins against lesser opponents is a good sign they're right where they should be.
Tennessee Volunteers Two painful losses, but to top-10 teams.  Injuries may drop them in coming weeks though.
Boise State Broncos The near-loss to BYU doesn't look good.
Florida Gators Decent, but on shaky ground IMO. Loss to Tennessee hurts, close win at Vandy, and Mizzou is not good.
LSU Tigers Surging, plus Fournette is back.
Oklahoma Sooners The loss to Houston is not looking good whatsoever. OSU lost too, and their "good" wins are too close for comfort.
Utah Utes Injuries have killed the team. Offense looked ok against UCLA but defense struggled.
Navy Midshipmen The Houston win looks a lot more questionable now.
Colorado Buffaloes Stanford is a good win, but they needed to score more when Stanford is struggling to move up.
North Carolina Tar Heels Hard to place. Good wins, bad losses...
Virginia Tech Hokies UNC and VT are going to make things hard to rank...
Washington State Cougars I hate putting them here because of the FCS loss, but they look good otherwise.
