TheFlyingBoat Ballot for 2016 Week 8

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 16, 2016, 4:18 p.m.

Overall Rationale: Can some explain why everyone is so high on Navy when they have no P5 wins, a loss to Air Force, and two games against UConn and Tulane where there combined MoV is 11? Same question for Auburn. Staying close to Clemson clearly isn't that impressive anymore seeing as everyone and their mother seems to be able to do it (guess Clemson plays down to their competition?). They barely beat a shit LSU team, needing a LSU TD reversal to do it at the end. Their best win is probably Miss St. Auburn should not be ranked. Neither should Navy.

Rank Team Reason
Alabama Crimson Tide A thoroughly dominating performance against a highly-ranked, albeit injured, Tennessee team.
Ohio State Buckeyes What a fantastic game against Wisconsin. Cements in my mind that both of these teams are the real deal.
Michigan Wolverines Did nothing, but Clemson fell, so welcome to the top 3!
Texas A&M Aggies Did nothing, but Clemson fell, so welcome to the top 4!
Washington Huskies Did nothing, but Clemson fell, so welcome to the top 5!
Clemson Tigers Clemson can't seem to dominate weaker teams at all. A poor performance at Auburn, Troy, and now NCST makes me question how dominant they really are.
Louisville Cardinals Beating 3-4 Duke doesn't move the needle for me.
West Virginia Mountaineers Their D is the real deal. Holding Tech to under 20 is no small feat, even with a Mahomes not playing at 100. They passed their first real test with flying colors. Holding Tech to 17 is good enough for me to have them jump Nebraska who has yet to beat anyone or appear particularly dominant on either side of the ball.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Their close win against Oregon looks worse and worse day by day. They don't have any marquee wins either. I want to make this clear, but beating Indiana close didn't cause them to fall. I think Indiana is a really good team.
Baylor Bears Baylor's got to be the luckiest team in the world...teams fall and they stumble into 8 while beating nobody.
Wisconsin Badgers God they looked good against tOSU. Easily the best two loss team in the country.
Houston Cougars Barely scraped by Tulsa. This team isn't as good as we though and/or Herman isn't either.
Boise State Broncos Bryan Harsin is doing work at Boise State. They played CSU a bit too close for my liking, but I am impressed, no doubt.
Oklahoma Sooners A convincing win over the purple wizard.
Tennessee Volunteers Sure they lost twice in a row and got BTFO, but they lost to two good teams, and their last one was to Bama while putting in offensive players at LB.
Florida State Seminoles Florida State is overrated after beating what seems to be an overrate Miami team. I guess the curse of Richt is real.
Arkansas Razorbacks Arkansas picked up a nice win against Ole Miss, but as I have said before Ole Miss is overrated.
Florida Gators They beat Mizzou. That makes me happy. Mizzou still sucks, but they're 5-1, so meh.
Western Michigan Broncos Another dominant win for Western Michigan.
Oklahoma State Cowboys Up two following others falling. People are way too low on OkSt, just saying. They should be 5-1.
Utah Utes The Utes pick up another win in disappointing fashion over Oregon St.
Ole Miss Rebels Ole Miss is overrated. I've been saying this forever.
LSU Tigers LSU looks good with Oregon, let's see what happens against good teams.
North Carolina Tar Heels UNC jumps back in with a win over Miami following a loss to now unranked Vtech
Colorado Buffaloes The Buffs shut down the high powered ASU offense down hard. Good stuff.
