hokies220 Ballot for 2016 Week 6

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Oct. 2, 2016, 11:30 a.m.

Overall Rationale: I think there are a clear top ten right that can be placed in mostly any order, with the exception of Wisconsin and Louisville since they have losses. After that it becomes a crap shoot. I could come up with 30 teams that could really deserve a ranking so the five I left out are Utah, Florida, OU, TTU, and USF.

Rank Team Reason
Clemson Tigers Best win in the best game of the year against my previous #1.
Michigan Wolverines Really good win against Wisconsin. Colorado and UCF wins are looking good.
Ohio State Buckeyes Defense is unreal. OU and Tulsa wins look decent.
Alabama Crimson Tide Utterly dominant, but strength of opponents isn't quite as good as the first three IMO.
Washington Huskies Absolutely destroyed Stanford. Washington appears to be for real. Big mental hurdle next week.
Louisville Cardinals Didn't drop far and how could you drop them further? Jackson is the real deal and I see them getting back into the top 5 before the Houston game.
Texas A&M Aggies Wasn't pretty but they won. They've been here before then it collapsed. Will this season be different?
Houston Cougars I like Houston and want to see them in the playoff discussion, but it's too early for that. OU win looks better, but Cincy lost again.
Tennessee Volunteers I''m going to go ahead and firmly say Tennessee is good. Maybe. They're lucky at least. Solid top 10 team.
Wisconsin Badgers Kept the game close against a great Michigan team. More deserving of top 10 then other teams even with MSU losing.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Way too high but who else should go here?
North Carolina Tar Heels Ranking teams after the top ten feels like all of them are too high.
Colorado Buffaloes No matter where you put them between 11-25.
Western Michigan Broncos Case in point. But I really think WMU could challenge Houston for the NY6 bid.
Boise State Broncos Or Boise could because McNichols is the most underrated player in the country. Sucks for them that SDSU lost.
Baylor Bears Somehow escaped ISU. Two bye weeks and Kansas mean they should be rested for their schedule to actually start.
West Virginia Mountaineers Is WVU good? IDK either, but they get a bye then a trip to Lubbock to see how good their defense is.
Ole Miss Rebels Win against Memphis was good. I still don't want to rank a team with 2 losses too high.
Stanford Cardinal Got shellacked. KSU lost their game, but USC and UCLA won. Still a top 20 team but the changing of the guard in the north has happened.
Miami Hurricanes GT gifted them two TDs and they won by two TDs. The game was fairly even, but now Miami can only rise as their schedule gets tougher finally. FSU, UNC, and VT in a 12 day stretch.
Arkansas Razorbacks Beat an FCS team. No change in ranking.
UCLA Bruins Another two loss team, but I think they're more deserving than five I left out.
Florida State Seminoles They were so close to winning, but those NC schools seem to be voodoo for the Noles. Also lol what defense?
Air Force Falcons They stopped Navy's run game. Also undefeated so welcome to the top 25.
Maryland Terrapins Also undefeated so welcome to the top 25. I don't know if Maryland is good or not, but conceivably they could be 8-0 going into the Michigan game. Most likely they'll lose next week because I ranked them.
