Colton3690 Ballot for 2016 Week 5

Ballot Type: Human

Submitted: Sept. 25, 2016, 12:58 p.m.

Rank Team Reason
Houston Cougars Did nothing this week to make me doubt their spot for the moment
Ohio State Buckeyes Impressive showing this week against BYE
Alabama Crimson Tide Results against Kent State were exactly as expected
Louisville Cardinals Wasn't as huge a blowout as some people predicted, but Lamar Jackson is still on fire
Stanford Cardinal Really solidified their spot in the top tier of teams after coming back on the road against UCLA
Wisconsin Badgers Beat up on Sparty and really boosted their resume (esp. after LSU's loss)
Texas A&M Aggies Three very decent wins have come in seemingly quiet fashion. The improvements on defense under Chavis have been huge
Michigan Wolverines Notched a beat down win over a young Penn State team, but this Michigan squad is rounding out and looking better week after week
Clemson Tigers Nice win on the road over Georgia Tech on Thursday seemingly answered a lot of the question marks about Clemson. Their defense completely dominated that game and looked very solid
Utah Utes Another team quietly going about it's business and notching decent wins. Won't face a real tough test for several more weeks, so it will be interesting to see if they can avoid any let downs along the way and start making some noise.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Avoided the upset in Evanston this week. This team has come a long way since last season.
Tennessee Volunteers Finally got over the hump against their rivals to notch a signature win. Struggles in the first half and inconsistent play overall are still major concerns
Boise State Broncos Boise doing what Boise does
Western Michigan Broncos Still two of the best road wins of any team in the country. No margin for error going forward however.
Washington Huskies Escaped on the road against Arizona. Still haven't figured out quite how to put all the pieces together. Huge test coming up this week against Stanford will tell us how good this team actually is.
West Virginia Mountaineers Almost let one slip through their fingers (literally), but held on to win after BYU's rally ran out of steam.
Arizona State Sun Devils Can win in a shootout. Not sure they can match up with any teams that play defense, however
Baylor Bears Finally played some decent competition, and took care of business. With Baylor, like usual, they will go as far as their offense takes them
San Diego State Aztecs Their resume took a hit on an off week after losses by Cal and NIU
Wake Forest Demon Deacons I see you Wake. Might sneak up on some teams in conference this season
Minnesota Golden Gophers Goldy gets back in this week after handling CSU
Memphis Tigers Expected a drop off after losing Paxton Lynch, but they have looked solid again. Can they knock off the Rebels for the second year in a row?
Florida State Seminoles Probably the best one loss team in the country, and the win over Ole Miss still holds some weight
Navy Midshipmen Undefeated heading into an academy game against Air Force (3-0)
North Dakota State Bison
